This is my emulation from the writers seminar presentation about Jeanette Walls and this excerpt comes from The Glass Castle.

She fought a lot in life. Not just to fend off her enemies but because she didn’t understand. She thought that that was how you were supposed to act; maybe because life was hard and her family made it hard; because thats how her parents were, they yelled and they fought, they took everything out on her, and she took it out on everyone else. However she tried but she couldn’t stop, no one could understand why she acted this way, they thought she just liked to fight.
